What channel is Bears vs. Steelers on today? Schedule, time for 'Monday Night Football' in Week 9
Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears face off against Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers on "Monday Night Football," in a classic bout of "the rookie vs. the veteran." The Bears are 3-5 thus far on the season, whereas the Steelers are 4-3. Both teams are third in their respective division, although the NFC North undoubtedly lacks the depth that the AFC North does.
The Steelers are bringing a three-game winning streak into this game, whereas the Bears have lost three straight. They're coming out of a buzzsaw portion of their schedule, featuring games against the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and San Francisco 49ers. The Steelers, meanwhile, have been winning ugly -- but winning all the same. Most recently, they netted a 15-10 win over their division rival Cleveland Browns.
The Steelers defense does pose some problems for the Bears on paper. T.J. Watt has terrorized quarterbacks, and it's hard to discount Fields' disastrous first start against the Browns. If Watt and the Steelers can keep him under pressure, it could be a long Monday night for Chicago. The Steelers' secondary, however, is susceptible to missed tackles, which could benefit the Bears if they can gameplan possibly.
To that point, Matt Nagy will return for the Bears' sideline on Monday after clearing COVID-19 protocols. He reclaims the position from special teams coach Matt Tabor, though Bill Lazer will likely continue to call plays for Fields and the Bears offense.
Cracks are appearing in the armor of some of the AFC North's best, with the Bengals thumping the Ravens two weeks ago and subsequently losing to the Jets. The Ravens lead the division at 5-2, so a win could help the Steelers, at worst, keep pace with Baltimore and Cincinnati in the North.
